Meet David Kempf. He’s our Branch Manager here at Preventia.
David got his start in the alarm industry nearly 20 years ago! He joined our Preventia family in November 2018 when North Central Security Services became Preventia. A Lafayette, Tennessee local, David had been working in the lumber industry before deciding to pursue his interest in technology and security. He started as an installation technician and learned his way through security, access control, cameras, fire systems, and networking – all the way to become our branch manager. David has grown into a phenomenal leader and support to our Lafayette customers and team. In his own words: “as you get older, you learn to work smarter, not harder.”
Managing our team requires balancing customer needs and team member needs. David reveals that he strives to ensure everyone involved is happy: “Treat all people fairly and honestly. If I can provide customers and employees with the best technology, that’s success […] If you are happy, you will be successful in what you do.”
An exceptional resource to all, David is always learning all that he can and is always willing to help. In fact, his ‘go-the-extra-mile’ attitude is what he’s complimented on most often. He humbly asserts: “I do better behind the scenes. I put the systems together, make them work, then the guys go out and install. If they have any problems, they call me and we get it figured out.”
When he’s not building out custom proposals, overseeing daily operations, or preparing equipment, you might find David playing with his grandkids (he’s got 3 now!) or enjoying some peace and quiet. And speaking of his sweet family, David was quick to answer with “awesome” when asked about his loving wife, Alecia. These lovebirds truly testify to a relationship that lasts; they just celebrated 31 years of marriage!
David has a respectable perspective when it comes to measuring success in life: “Be the best you can be at what you like doing.” We are grateful that David always works to be the best he can be and helps our team with what he likes most – technology.
